I wanted a solar fountain but was worried about the water getting murky or the pump clogging up in the summer heat. This setup totally solved that! The fountain itself is fantastic and sprays pretty high when the sun is out (it pauses when a thick cloud passes, exactly as a battery-free solar device should). But the real hero is that copper disk add-on! I dropped it in, and it naturally stopped any funky growth from building up on the solar pad. No harsh chemicals, safe for the birds, and saves me so much cleaning time. Well worth the money.

Perfect Little Fountain
The fountain description states direct sunlight is required in several different areas of product information. It works exactly as described and fit my need perfectly. I turn my pool pump off from 10pm to 10am and needed a small ripple to circulate in the early morning. This little fountain creates the small movement I required. I also have a bird bath shaded under my pecan tree and tried it out there. When in shade the fountain produces about a quarter inch height of movement to keep the water circulated. This is actually perfect for not splashing the small amount of water out of the bird bath. This product has no batteries to charge from the solar panel. It only works in sunlight, which is perfect for my application because I don't want to be replacing batteries in this instance.
